Excessive Alkalinity Consumption?
I was wondering if it is normal for a tank (90gal) populated with frogspawn, hammerhead, mushrooms, zoos, green stars, candy cane and a whole lot of coraline algae, to be consuming great amounts of alkalinity. Im always adding in Randy's recipe for alk, and if I dont watch it, it drops very quickly thus dropping my PH. Is this normal?
Calcium is quite steady however usually around 420-450 I also top off my evaporation rate with a drip of kalk solution. |

I am having the same problem. Also using Randy's recipe in a 90g tank & I don't quite know what to do myself.
I was thinking of topping off with Alk or growing some macros 27/7 to bring up PH. I am more concerned about PH.
