Is doing this bad for the lights???

My lighting schedule consists of PC actinics and MH lights. I turn the actinics on about 1 hour before the halides. When the halides come on, I can't tell a difference if the actinics are on or not so I want to turn them off.

Then I want to turn them back on for 1 hour after the halides go off. Would turning the PC's on and off twice a day wear out the bulbs much faster???

I see no reason to keep them since I can't see a difference. They just add heat to the system.

Thanks
