Tek Light : End caps keep popping out of stand offs?
Not sure what I could have done wrong, but the end caps of my T5 Tek light retro kit won't stay in the stand offs.
I am thinking of securing them with some silicone, is this a common problem? |

If I put some pressure on the endcaps or if im trying to screw a endcap on or off, the endcaps snap off on me once in awhile. Seems like it could be a common problem. But they shouldnt pop off if your not touching them. You can glue them if you want. You will just have to buy new endcaps and standoffs if you ever need to replace the endcap.

Mine got really bad after I connected the stiff wires, they keep pulling the endcaps out of the stand offs, as soon as I snap them in.

My t5 retro kit did too, what you do to fix this is get a little tool and pop the little tabs out to clip into the mounting bracket, its kinda hard but once you do it they wont come out anymore.

I see the tabs, would you do this before you screw the stand off's down, or can you do it afterwards?

Have you pushed the end caps into the standoff far enough to have it click into place? You have to push pretty hard, but it should lock in there. If the inside of the end cap is not square (i.e. the tab is pushing into the space inside the end cap), then they are not locked in.
You should do that before you screw the standoffs in. Jack

Make sure that you have enough space between the standoff and the canopy frame for the wires to fit through. I had to cut a little groove under each stand off, so that wires could fit. Then everything snapped right into place first try.
