Question ASM Mini Protein Skimmer, Good...Bad...?

Trying to deside between the ASM Mini and a few others(see my forum) for a 30g Oceanic Seahorse tank with a 15 High sump/refugium that I plan to set up this fall and wondered if any body has had any expierience with it.

Thanks ,

i have one the pump on it is a genx1000 its just total crap if you want to buy it you will want to upgrade it to a genx1500 it will get 500 times more foam and more tiny and much more bubbles. i myself think it works with the new pump its a 4-5 star without the upgrade in pump its a 3 max. if you plan on having a big load i would recommend the rps-1000 by pacific coast imports. i have one on my other tank and it kicks the asm like non other and about the same price got mine for 150 and thats how much it costs after you upgrade the asm mini.

I won't have too much bio-load, but I'll look into those pumps.
Any other reviews?

Thanks,

Well, since it's so new and not many people have used it, I should probably use a more common one, unless I can get some "better news" about them.

Thanks,

I also give it a lackluster rating.... it just doesn't perform to my expectations!

I have considered the pump upgrade, but haven't done it yet.

But... i have yet to find something to replace it with...

I have one

Like everybody says, the pump that comes with the skimmer is way underpowered!!!!, the skimmer works with the 1000, but not very well. I just ordered the 1500 from premium aquatics and when it comes this week, I will see how it performs. I just don't understand why ASM has done nothing about the upgrade of this pump???????
