Anthias

Is it possible to have different varieties of anthias (1 of each of different ones) or do you need to keep all the same type as a school ?

I have no first hand knowledge but others seem to have done it successfully while a few have reported problems. I have two Sunburst Anthias and they seem pretty docile.

If you do it, let us know how it goes.

I believe it depends on the size of the tank. For best results you should not keep Anthias in singles...always in a harem of one male and at least 3 females. I've seen some kept singly, I've had one singly after the females passed away until it recently perished due to an unfortuante tank fouling incident, so it can be done. As to different varieties....as long as there is enough territory in the tank (i.e. a 150g) I don't think you should have too much of a problem if you introduced two small schools of two difference species.

But again, I'm only speaking with minimal experience.
