Some Reef Pics (125g) PIC INTENSE

Well thought I would share some pics. My tank looks more like a frag tank compared to others, but it will grow up someday.

THANKS! The more clear pics are shot with a Canon Rebel XT (350D) and the others were pre-rebel with a basic point and shoot.

I turn off all pumps and PH's for at least 20min before shooting, then I do post photo touchup's with Photoshop.

Turn off all ligths/tvs in house.

Use tripod for some of the shots.

Take tons of pics! I took about 300 just to get these few.

What kind of lense?

I have a Canon 1Ds (11 mp digital) but my macro lense hates shooting through the tank glass, always get horrible distortion.

Hoping to find a way around the distortion thing, maybe a new macro lense or a special shooting angle.

Truely impressive pictures. Awesome.

Just using the kit lens until I can afford a macro.

Maybe thats my problem.
I was using a 80-300mm macro.

Will try a 50mm.
Sounds like I was trying too hard

With the way its been preforming, I might just do that.

Wish I had "pretty" things in my tank to take pictures of. I just added the majority of my live rock and am now in the market for a T5 setup. So the prettys are a short ways off yet.

Very nice David. Man you got a lot of zoas!!! If thats only half then I really need to come over and help you lessen your load What is the green acro? Those are some incredible shots. Do you have a larger full tank shot? The one you posted is too small to see detail. The tank will look awesome when those zoas start spreading. Great tank.
Hope to see you at the next meeting.

Very VERY nice! What's your lighting setup on the reef?

I especially like the zoanthids.

Wow. That's quite a collection of zoos you've got there. I'd be interested to see how much they've grown 6-8 months down the line.
