rock
recently I have had red/brown stuff growing on my new rock. I was hoping this was just coralline or something like that I cant remember exactly what it is, but it is also growing on my old rock now too? Will my whole tank eventually become the same color cause this stuff isnt as purple as the original I had in my tank.

More Information Please...
good morning gguertin, what have you done differently to your tank? additions/etc...just keep up with your water changes and try not to overfeed the tank it should be alright. sounds like its going through another mini cycle of some sort. can you list more info on your tank please so that we here at reefcentral can pinpoint whats going on in more detail. the more information you give us about your setup the better we can help you>hardware,sump,skimmer,lighting/additives,feedings,water chemistry any thing thats pertinent information about your tank, hope this helps...

ok sorry I was on another question and just reposted this in a new question. I have a sump with a bio wheel, I have heard they are bad and cause nitrates to rise but my tank has always seemed at the right levels so I have just left it alone. I have a 75 gallon tank and now have 130 lbs of live rock that was added at 3 different times. I have original rock about 50 lbs from another tank I had and then another 15 from a 20 gallon tank I had. Then I ordered 65lbs online and did qt the rock for 30 days and put that in the tank. all the rock had a slightly different purple to it and the new rock added last didnt have any color at all it all must have died off on delivery. so when most of the color added to that rock I assumed it was coraline but now it is growing onto my other rock also. Their is also 1 section where it is green and not brown/purple.
