Dead anemone?

Just got him yesterday and he seemed to be fine...came home today and he went deep between a rock and is all shrunk up...Is he dead or will they detach them selfs when dead?

He may be fine..just acclimating to the tank.Give him time. If dead or dieing they sometimes turn themselves inside out and look really bad. Inflating and deflating is a daily thing with anemones. Did you acclimate properly? is this a new tank? Do you know all of your parameters? Anemones are delicate creatures...they should never be in a new immature system.

If you don't mind us asking, what kind of anemone is it, what kind of lighting do you have and what size tank do you have.

I'm no expert, however, with more details someone may be able to give better advise as to rather or not you can even support the animal.

Be careful with small fish...they are known for eating them.
