Detritus
Whats the best way to clean detritus off your rocks? I have a bit of a build up. What snails are the best at cleaning the rocks?

Lots of flow and tangs like bristle tooths, orange shoulders, kole tangs, and chevrons will help.

hijack:
is there a good ratio of snails per gallon or snails per lb of LR to help w/ this problem? i just added a new powerhead about a week ago and have since seen the detritus build up go way down, however i still have a bit collecting in crevices, etc. and what type of snails are best for removing this?

I have 10 cerith, 10-15 astrea, 1 turbo, and 3 trochus snails in my 55 gallon, along with a coral banded shrimp, 2 emerald crabs, 8 blue legged hermits, 2 scarlet hermits, a green serpent star, and a sand sifting star and my detrius still build up a bit, not as bad as before the coral banded shrimp, he helps a bit but he's so damn mean to everything else in the tank.

You can always take a turkey baster and blast the rocks once in awhile.

Bumble bee snails. They seem to spend most of their time in the crevices and caves in the rocks.
