cleaner shrimp molting

yesterday I found the body of a cleaner shrimp. I thought it had died since and what was left of him was just his skin. But to my surprise it had molted, my shrimp was still alive!!!!!!! This is the first time it happens to me. I´m so freaking happy about this. I must be doing something right to help my shrimp keep on growing. Should I take the molting body out of the tank or just let it desintegrate. The shrimp left it in a place where I would have to move several rocks to get it.
Happy reefing!!!!!

Just leave it in the tank. The skeleton will get used up by other things in the tank. Do you dose iodine? This usually makes the shrimp molt. But yes, molting shrimp is a good thing.

My Banded Coral Shrimp also molts about every 1.5 months. I do not doze iodine.

On a sad note....my peppermint shrimp was found on the floor. Some how it must of jumped as I was moving some rock around.

Get another cleaner shrimp - if you think molting is cool you've just gotta see 'em breed!

Woke up this morning and found that mine had molted. I've only had him for a week or so. I guess this is good. Cheers

The first time i purchased a cleaner, he tried to molt as soon as i put him in the tank and i lost him. I went back and purchased another and it took him 4 months before he molted. Your shrimp's prob. gonna stay in hidding until he feels comfortable in his new skin. Congrats on your shrimp making it through the molting process. If your like me you'll take the skin out of the tank. It just makes for an eye sore in my opinion.

My banded coral has molted twice since I've had him but my skunk cleaner has yet to molt once and I got them both at the same time.
