My zoas only open up at night.
Alright guys. This may quallify as the most ignorant post of all time. I bought some live rock from a guy that had stuff all over it. I think I have some green zoas but they only open up at night. I had them about halfway up the tank and I have Dual 250watt lighting on my 75 gallon. Is this TOO much for them? Whenever the lights go out and just the moon lights are on, they open up and are beatiful. Is this normal? Thanks for any help. Cheers
Sean

Mine stay open a little, but they truely extend themselves out at night when the moonlights are on. I tend to drop some DT Oyster eggs and watch them catch things. My MH's are 150 watt 10,000K with dual 96 watt actinics.

yeah maybe it's too much for them... you may try to lower them and see how they react...

It might be too much light, but my green zoas are open all day under my 250W halide. They are also half way up from the bottom.

I keep most of my zoos in the top 1/2 of my tank 6-8" away from the water's surface with a 175w bulb.
