Constructing DIY sump.. silicon?
what brand of sealant is best for the glass plates, that i can buy from somewhere like walmart, home depot or lowes... if not a specific brand what do i look for and how do i tell if its non toxic... thanks in advance

get the door and window...Don't get the bathroom type...it contains chemicals to prevent mold...I use the GE brand from Home Depot...Lowes has it too more than likely..

I use this:
http://www.dap.com/product_details.aspx?product_id=32 I get it either HD or Lowes. I believe it's HD, but it could be Lowes. I goes for about $3 - $4. HTH

I also used the DAP Aquarium sealant to make a DIY sump/fuge from a 20 long. I got it at Menard's but I think that store may only be in the midwest.
The tube is a real pain. Be careful when it starts to get empty. In the process of rolling the tube up (how you would roll toothpaste container) to get the stuff out the tube, it became full of holes and silicon was all over the place.
