ID please ...

They came on a piece of live rock and I wasn't too worried about them, but it appears that they multiply rather quickly and I think they might have eaten my green star polyps. They have about 10 legs. Friend or Foe?

Not a true "spaghetti worm" probably, but often called that as well.

They are harmless, pretty good to have, and only an eyesore to some people when in large populations.

Almost identicle to what you have there only with more tenticles.

I would assume somthing else did your GPS in. maybe you dropped it on a stinging coral while cleaning or somthing?
Maybe a ric or somthing? I know my rics will sting anything encrusting but a galaxea and it WILL die off or look like TOTAL doo-doo for a month where they touched it.

BUT those asterina stars wouldnt be on it munching away if it weres till alive even a little bit. Contrairy to popular belief the asterina stars that are NOT sps eaters ( which you have) will not eat coral unless it is dead.
I would remove it if your tank is small toavoid any spikes, and peal off the dead tissue.

Actually this is just in my nano. the only thing in there is xenia, mushrooms, a finger leather, and a couple zoas. If the worms didn't cause them to die, it was probably something to do with the low lighting& flow or else not enough nutrients. There are still a few polyps that poke out... but they slowly keep dissapearing too
