How to move water in 45gal
I am setting up a 45gal aquarium, which as was commented to me at my LFS, is not a great size since it is so narrow (1ft) for its height (2ft). But I got the tank cheap, so I'm not planning on changing. I have one powerhead, but that does not appear sufficient to keep things moving near the bottom - for instance, I can't gt all the salt into solution as some is settling on the bottom. Any suggestions on what second powerhead to get to keep things moving?
Thanks |

I have a 40 High, which I think you have, not so sure its 45. Anyway my tank has the same dimensions. i have 3 powerheads 2 maxijet 1200s in the corners and 1 maxijet 600 streaming behind my rockwork. My return pump from the sump is a rio 2100.
RIO = 690gph Mj 1200s = 295gphx2 Mj 600 = 160gph Its a total of 1440 gph of movement, works pretty well |
