Plumbing connections from sump,pump,to display
I am looking for best suggestions on plumbing from sump, to an external pump, then back to the display. I plan to use a sequence reeflo dart which based on the reefcentral calculator should given me approx. 4-6 sump turnovers hrly. I plan to use a rubbermaid sump feeding trough as the sump. From the sump a 2" heavy duty bulhead, 2"nipple,2"ball valve,2"nipple,2"union,2"nipple connected to the pump. From the pump...1.5"nipple,1.5"union,1.5"nipple, 1.5" gate valve, and sched 40 pipe back to display. I was thinking of using all threaded connections for the above so that in the future I could reuse/attach/detach as needed. The drawback as I can see it would be more opportunities for leaks.
What are your thoughts, recommendations, improvements? |

Is there a better forum for this question? Or does this plan just look o.k. to all? Thanks

As well the only drawback I can see would be the threaded connections- without sealing/gluing them, I've always had leaks spring, even with plenty of plumber's tape.
