Help !! what is this stuff growing on my live rock?

What is this stuff ?

There is this white\gray looking cotton stuff growing on my live rock.

It is making a mess in the water because pieces keep comeing off and floating about. Some in larger pieces that i can fish out of the water and others in small small particles (at least i think it is from this stuff) that is floating about in the water and sticking to that glass. almost like someone wiped it with paper towel ( u know that white stuff it leaves behind sometimes)

How Bad if this and what can i do to make it stop please help .....

its is way to hard to put a pic .... it is kind of inside of the rock

You would never be able to tell in a pic
