RO/DI filter question

I'm currently lookinG to purchase a RO/DI filter, but am a little confused as to how to set one up. Do I have to fasten/secure it to somethinG, or can I pretty much store it, and then filter water as needed. Does anyone have any pictures of their setups??? Thanks.

It is very easy to let your RO/DI sit under the sink, in the garage, etc. and take it out and hook it up when you need to use it; that is what I currently do.

Please see this thread (most recent one, as RO/DI threads pop up daily) and pay close attention to AZDesertRat's recommendations in what to look for in an RO/DI unit.

It takes a little plumbing, not much though, I would fasten it to something, only take 2 or 3 screws

If you can mount it even semi permanent I would suggest it. RO units are kind of top heavy and don't usually stand up well on their own. Even if you don't hook the product and waste lines up permanent, mounting it even with one or two screws may prevent damage from falling over.
