How much live rock for a 240 grow tank?

I am setting up a 240 to solely grow sps colonies. I am going to have a shelf of egg crate with the live rock underneath it. Tank is going to have a large skimmer and a fuge with cheato. I was thinking only 200 pounds but do I even need that much , I've seen some tanks with none. Would 100 pounds work?
