Thermos east coast to west coast
Will frags in a thermos survive the trip from the east coast to west coast if shipped priority mail 2-3 day?

mush, mush, mush, don't try to save money, on shipping you won't even want to open the bag,, if YOUR shipping, take them out of your tank to holding water for about 10 minutes, then ship in FRESH tank water, throwing out the water you had them sit in, this simple step will help zenias ship much better

Can I make a suggestion? I used to work at a LFS, one of the guys there told me one of the reasons Xenia doesn't do well is that it gets squashed and smashed as it travels, causing it to shrink up more and release even more toxins. He taught me something that may work in this case, but I'm not sure (the way he showed me was with a fish bag, a thermos is awfully small inside so it may not work). Take a piece of styrofoam that's a little larger than the base of the frag, and attach it to the rock with an elastic band on either side. Now no matter which way the shipping container is turned, the coral will stay surrounded by water and shouldn't contact the sides; it will stay upsidedown hanging from the rock to which it's attached. Also, ship overnight -- I agree, three days and the person receiving the Xenia will get a thermos full of goo.
