Question Lighting for cheato

I'm thinking of adding some cheato to my sump, but currently don't have any lighting in it. My sump is in the stand under my 75g tank. It's a 20H with the skimmerr and filter material in there. I was thinking of putting some egg crate in the return side to partition that part and add cheato to the back side.

So, I need lighting recommendations. Also, what should my light cycle be 12 hours/day or what.

Thanks

Just about any light will do.
I and many others just use a little flourescent aquarium bulb.
If you want heavy growth though go with the bulb recommended by melev.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll go with a flourescent tube to keep heat to a minimum. Suggestions on wattage and spectrum and how many hours do you guys light your cheato?

Thanks

That's a tad more lighting than I want to use! My sump is a 20H under my stand. How about 15 watt floursence? And again how many hours? Maybe 12 when the main lights are off?

Well, I decided to get the Coralife mini-reef light. 18 watts total one 9 watt actinic & one 9 watt 10K in a small hood with ballast & cover. I will run it when the mains are off.

Thanks to everyone.
