Under Tank Skimmer without a overflow box?
Hi. I'm looking for a skimmer that I can put under my tank (75g, no sump) but that doesnt require a hang on back overflow. The problem is that my tank doesnt have enough room behind it to fit the overflow. I only have about 2 1/2 inches behind the tank to work with. If anyone has any suggestions of what I might use to set up a skimmer on my tank I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

A hang on won't fit becuase of the tight fit.

Then your kinda SOL. Break the tank down, move it away from the wall, put an overflow on it and a sump below and then put a skimmer in the sump. Or move it away from the wall and put a hang on skimmer on it.

I don't think you can find a H.O.T. skimmer that'll fit in a 2.5" space.
![]() Is the tank sitting in a corner so that you could set up a skimmer or overflow box on the side of the tank, so no one could see it?

Look into the Tunze Comline skimmers. They are small enough (yet efficient) that you can probably fit it inside the main tank.

I only know of one that can do what you want, the Terminator II w/ sumpless kit. The links are below. I know nothing about how they work. FWIW, I would consider one of the Tunze in-tank skimmers.

I do have 8 inches on one side of the tank but it is an acrylic tank and has a 5 inch lip on the top that makes it very difficult to fit anything.
