Snails Crawling Out of Tank?!

For whatever reason a few of my snails (mainly the margheritas) have been crawling up and over the edge of my tank ... I usually spot them before any harm is done to them but why are they doing this! The one even made it up over the edge, down the glass (24 gallon cube) and onto the stand.

Anyone else have this issue?

margarita snails like to go for hikes.

they usually go too far and end up dried up on the floor somewhere...

I have one in my tank that always stays right at the top and a little out of the water. Did a water change yesterday and he just slid down the glass, refilled and right back to the top he went. Been doing this for more than 2 weeks. Odd little thing has his GPS messed up I guess.
