Getting Tired of my Euro-reef Skimmer
I have a Euro Reef skimmer (Cs5-2), and every time I remove the cup to get rid of the waste, I have to completely tinker with the air vavle. It will sometimes overflow, other times it won't collect skimmate. So I am just constantly adjusting the unit at least 3-4 times a week (especially after I remove the cup). What is causing it do this? Pump is clean, and the skimmer has been broken in. Also, many times right after I put the cup back onto the skimmer it overflowed and clean out the built up protien meaning I had to restart the break in perdiod. Any help, suggestion, or advice as to what I am doing wrong would be helpful. Also, this is in the sump with it's own chamber so water is level is constant, and the chamber is fed direct overflow water.

Tagging along here. I am running into the same problems. Currently, mine will not collect any skimmate. I cleaned the pump with vinegar and still no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

What are you talking about? Are you not cleaning the neck? The cup and neck should be perfectly clean when you put it back on.

On my euro-reef 6-1, I removed the air valve completely, and adjust the output by moving the output tube up and down (it's a slip fit). Stays pretty consistent that way.
