i just got back from gulfshoes alabama
and i found some pretty wierd stuff
just floating around right off the beach

well im not sure what some are but i have an idea of what species

here is some sort of black fish
that i found swimming on the bottom in the sand

here is a different fish that i found swimming on the top of the water but it looks to be an older fish of thew same species
it has 3 white dots on its tail

here is another fish swimming on the bottom in the sand

this was swimming in some macro alge and i belevie it is some sort of pipe fish

now this was really wierd
i believe it is a mantis shrimp
maybe even a spearhead mantis
it was just flowting around on top of the water

anyone recognize these? any absolute id's?

here are some decorator crabs(i think)
they were buried very deep in some macro alge
when i put them in the clear container they covered themselves in whatever they could find
that is why i think they are some species of decorator crab

and here is something im not sure what is
it was attached to some macro alge

ID's?

The third fish is a Southern kingfish. A side pic of the other two fish would help. How big is the one with three dots on his tail.

I'm pretty sure. I have been wrong before though.
Southern kingfish is what the books call them. We call them ground mullet...theres not a better fish fried.
