Kalk vs 2 part help me out here.

How exactaly do you drip kalk?
Where can I buy lime water?
How do I know if Im dripping too much kalk?
Can kalk be added once a day?
Does kalk give you the same benifits that a two part give you as far as trace elements?
If I use klak for caccium what do I use for alk?

Hvae you ever used pool calcium before? Whats the difference in pool calcium and kalkwasser?

How exactaly do you drip kalk? Theres a lot of ways.. I used a sihpon from a 5g bucket that was higher than my sump. Some people use expensive dosing pumps which are way more accurate and some people use partial strength in their top off
Where can I buy lime water? You can buy kalkwasser or pickling lime at fish stores or grocery stores (respectively).. I've used Mrs. Wage's Pickling Lime before and it works fine.
How do I know if Im dripping too much kalk? You want to monitor your calcium and alkalinity, as well as your pH. Kalk has a really high pH so you can easily tell if your pH is going above 8.3-8.4
Can kalk be added once a day? You'll be spiking your pH really bad so its best to add it slowly overtime. Kalk has a pH of 12-13!
Does kalk give you the same benifits that a two part give you as far as trace elements? It depends on the pureness/quality of the kalk/pickling lime
If I use klak for caccium what do I use for alk? Kalk supplements for both, but often times, you can't add enough of it to keep up with a SPS tank (pH constaints) so thats why people use 2-parts and calciumr eactors

Ahhh HA! So start out with a moderate drip rate and test/tritrate to stay within my normal (ph, alk, ca) levels.

Any other suggestions?

You probably want to start off with like a drip a second and up it from there if needed.

calcium chloride is fine not sure about the pool stuff but if its like dowflakes [an ice melter] then your fine theres good reading here about randys holmes farley 2 part additive you should read it will definatly help you out with your questions check the chemistry section

after looking at your link dont use that stuff its way to expensive

1. Might want to take a day or two and read all you can in the Reef Chemistry forum. There is more to it than just adding Kalk/Ca. If one thing is out of wack and you begin dosing, you can add and add and not see a difference in Ca levels and cause more harm than good.

2. First test your pH, alk, Ca and mag levels before you start dosing anything. In a way they are all related and dependent upon each other.

3. From there you will have a good idea on how to get you levels up to the correct level and then maintain them
