my buddy needs help....... what size skimmer and eventually size tank

my buddy atm has a 100g long 60"

his stock atm:
1 small-med snow flake eel 6inch
1 small golden puffer 3-4inch
1 small niger trigger 2inch
1 small Big-eye Soldierfish 3inch
1 small V lion 3inch
and will soon get a small garabaldi

He insists on purchasing a larger tank when the time is needed. I believe he will as he has in the past owned a 300g.

for the time being, what is a good hang on the back skimmer that would work for his tank.

also, when the time is needed, any suggestions on what size tank he should purchase?

i ran a remora pro on my old 100 fowler and it worked liked a charm... had to clean out the cup every couple days to keep it from overflowing.
