anyone with a 6 bulb tek light and a 18" tall tank? (50g, 38g, etc)
due to space restraints, i may have to go with the shorter 50g instead of the 65g.
just want to know what kind of success people have had with 6 bulbs over a 18" tall tank. anyone with clams? how are those sps? can your lps handle it? please keep the responses specific to the post: 6 bulb tek and 18" tall tanks. nG |

This is not really a chemistry question, so I'll move it to the lighting forum.

Will the 6 bulb tek fit over a 12" wide tank? With the SLR reflectors a 6x54 tek retro takes up all the space in my 90. The tek hood with 6 bulbs looks like it is 15" wide. You can probably go with a 4 bulb setup max. IMO on 18" depth you'd be fine with 4x54W to grow anything you want. I don't keep clams so maybe others can comment, but I think clams would probably do fine under normally driven T5HOs at 18".
