Fluval 404

Hello,

I have 2 x Fluval 404 filters that are being used right now on a freshwater setup. I am tearing down that tank and would like to use them on a FOWLR setup that is up and running right now. Do i need to wash/rinse the bio material in the trays before i use it or can i go straight to the saltwater tank?

Thanks

I would throw out all of the old media, and pack the filter with the proper amout of carbon needed for your setup. I had a 55 gallon reef tank and this worked out great. Another good choice for media as opposed to carbon would be ChemiPure, this stuff sweet.
