Used 100G Aquarium

I have this 3yrs old 100g Aquarium (72" X 18" X 18"). Its been used as a freshwater aquarium for the past 3 yrs with no problem. Can I use this for a saltwater setup? the glass thickness of the sides are around 1/4 inch. it got 2 support brace on top divided equally. Thank you.

I would say it would be just fine. Has copper ever been used in it? Scrub it out very good with bleach or white vinegar and rinse, rinse, rinse, then it should be good to go.

People worry about this WAY too much. I'd say do the usual vinegar wash, but its really not as much an issue as people think.

yep, theres no reason that you couldnt use it for salt, unless it ever had copper in it....copper can be found in medications that you might have dosed for ich or something like that...just check the lables of what you've dosed (if you can remember what it was!)

Other than that, theres no reason not to..

and i agree w/rich..people do worry about that a lot...nothing will carry over from the freshwater tank if you've given it a good rinse, let it sit and dry, and then start on your saltwater setup

i'm currently in the process of converting my 40 breeder to saltwatre, and i havent even thought twice about it
