ro/di filter cartridges....
Hey people,
I have a 4 stage ro/di unit I use for my reef tank and my planted discus tank, well, during a routine water change and chemical testing I found my discus tank sitting at 8.0ph and I won't even go into the horrable nitrates and phosphates with ya'll but needless to say, my cartridges went crapola almost over night. and I had just chemi-cleaned my 55 reef tank, and need to change the water now, badly. To the point, anybody know of a good supplier locally here in okc that sells cartridges for ro units? I went to Lowe's and purchased a sediment and carbon filter but they do little good on my horrible water here in south side okc. Using the two 5micron sediment cartridges and the 2 micron carbon block (two of each in a four stage unit) and the phosphates are still ungodly and the ammonia registers off my little color card. Help! (I did order replacements from the original vendor but you all know how the mail works)

i have resin, but not a refillable cartridge. If you have a cartridge we could get that fixed.

I don't think the membrane is bad, the unit is only 3 months old. and the water here is horrid. how much you want for the refillable cartridges?

I would have to agree with Charlie, 3 months seems quick unless you let your Membrane dry out.

VCoo,
I'd greatly appreciate one of those cartridges, if you want just pm me a number i can reach you at. I just love how all the reefers come together in a time of crisis. =o) I havn't used a TDS meter yet, I've just been testing the output water every week. I did think that maybe the membrane went out already but I figured with the bad water quality I get at home that it wouldn't suprise me if the filters were crap already. I used to use one of those DI cartridges from petsmart, and it would only produce about 20 gallons before it was expended. If that much. Thanks again everyone, you guys rock.

Oddly enough my water started smelling odd after 3 months. My DI cartridge is not refillable. I found the replacement on ebay. See here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1 Considering I only paid 40 bucks for the unit, this seems steep.
