Is this possible? Or photoshop? You may now discuss amongst yourselves.

Japan had a infestation of giant jelly fish a few years back. Not sure if they were quite this big, but some were around the size of a person.

Some Jellies do get big, but they tend to be longer than wider. For example Lions Mane Jellyfish Cyanea capillata has been reported with a bell 7 to 8 foot wide and 120 foot long tentacles.

Fake. At that range, the diver is likely to be lunch.

I say fake the diver is closer to the camera but the jelly has more colors. As an avid underwater photographer one of the first things you learn is that after about 7' everything looks blue in the ocean. but it is a neat photo real or fake.

Man, I think it is a misuse of the boards to post something you know is fake and then put a title like:

"is this possible?"

How could that be real? It's very clearly fake unless you believe in 20000 leagues under the sea.

You know yourself it's not real so don't waste people's time with a post like that.

Physicslord, please grow up. I posted because I did not know one way or the other if it was real or could have been real. Isn't this why people post stuff? By the way, check out my post count and compare it to yours. I have been around a while and countless people know me and know I have never posted anything like this before.

And by the way, do you have any proof whatsoever that I knew it was fake or otherwise before I posted it? Please let me know what makes you think that and please supply me with some shread of proof. Thanks for your input though.

AND I even thought 50 foot squid were fake until we started seeing pics and video so please, like I said, grow up and do us all a favor. Thanks.

with all the talk of giant squid i can see why some people may think there might be a slim chance that it may just very unlikely be real ^^

physics"lord" i think that people post stuff like this "Man, I think it is a misuse of the boards to post something you know is fake and then put a title like:" are a " misuse of the boards" more so then the picture that entertained us for a few seconds

I though it was fun, but obviously fake.

Yes, so strict a schedule that he just had to take the time to post about how our time is being wasted.

Mike, that's a lovely picture. Where was it taken?
