Someones gotta know about this MH Ballast!

I have a Coralife 150w MH HQI ballast that i got for free. I can find anywhere the cord that goes from the ballast to the HQI socket.

Heres some pics...

i believe it is the ballast that goes to the Coralife Aqualight Pro Pendant

http://www.hellolights.com/15hqicoaqpep.html

Does any one know where i can get the cord to go to the Double ended socket or any way how to get this running!

That thing your holding in your hand. Is that the connector from the ballast?

And what type of lamp setup do you want to connect to?

Any DE pendant will work. But you will have to get an adapter or cut & splice on a new connector.

I agree on the cut and splice......I've never seen a connector like that, but modification can be a wonderful thing.

Plus, you can't beat the price.....

the double end has two wires come out

if i cut and splice to the socket theres an extra cord that is needed

i had someone else with one of these try and do that but didnt work

theres gotta be some kind of DE socket out there with three cords coming out

Wire nuts would work......the extra wire might be a ground wire....

If you are going to retrofit a hqi, make sure you use a glass shield between the bulb and anything else......UV rays are pretty strong from hqi bulbs.

That is a smoking deal on the reflector with a UV glass shield & a double ended HQI socket.
The extra wire is for grounding the reflector.
With that set up you will just cut the plug off your old ballast & wire it properly to the retro unit.

ya but the retro unit only has two wires coming out of the DE socket and the ballast needs three... i dought it will work without that third wire or 'grounded' wire

You have to drill a hole in the reflector. Put a ring terminal on the ground wire, & attach with a screw & nut. The reflector may already be pre-drilled for a grounding point.
