Queen Conch Question
Hey all, yesterday I purchased a queen conch to help clean my sandbed. I did a 3 hour drip acclimation and put it on some open sand in my display. Trouble is, it's been over 12 hours and it's still in the same spot! I acclimated a peppermint shrimp at the same time and I saw him swimming all over the tank like crazy this morning before the lights came on.
Occasionally I will see its (the conch's) eyes come out and look around. However, it hasn't moved at all since it's been in the display. How long will it take to get used to its surroundings and start moving around? I watched it moving all over the tank at the LFS, and I believe my acclimation was long enough. Should I try moving it into some rockwork (still on sand, but sheltered under rocks)? Or do I just need to dose myself with some patience? Any info would be greatly appreciated! |

Give it sometime, if it doesn't move in a few days, pull it out and and smell it (I know that sounds crazy) but you WILL know if it's alive.
