Emergency Contact List???

What does everyone think about having a list of contacts willing to help in case of an emergency...It could be something like something going wrong while out of town for a day or two to losing power as so many did...

It could be a list of:

*anyone who is willing to help out if available
*Size of their tank so you get a good idea if they'd be able to help hold stuff as well (if they are willing)
*Phone Number
*Location (ex. st. charles, south county, etc...)
*If they own a generator, good sized inverter, etc...
*any other pertinent information

That might be a good way to help prevent some of the stuff that happened going forward.

Anyone else think this might be a good idea?

I think it's a great idea. I worry a lot when I'm out of town--it would be great to have a couple of people I know I could depend on if an emergency arose.

Especially if you could look down the list and see, ok, I have 5 people within 5 minutes of my house...

Plus, I think a lot of people feel bad asking someone they possibly don't know for a favor like that...This might make them more comfortable asking knowing that they want to be on the list to help in case someone needs it

i think it's a great idea with an amendment.
to keep the list out of the hands of spammers and bad people, the list is only available to actual members of SLASH. ie. paying members.
of which i need to be....doh!

The list could be put on the website in the members only area if that's what the members would like.

we have contact info already. those interested would need to send an email to slashclub@yahoo.com if they would like their info released in the members only section of the site. Specify what info as well. Sounds like a good idea to me. a bunch of us have each others cell # for this reason why not broaden the list.

Count me in on the list! I don't have a lot but whatever I can offer, help, extra space in my tanks, etc. Let's set something up!

I like the idea still need to join the club so I could be a part of it but this could really help people out as I was one to suffer pretty bad in this last little spell of mother nature.

Steve,

I've been hiding out on a limited reef fund with a new baby in the house. I need to get down there and see you guys when the funding is back since I lost most of my sps in this last storm. I saved some after I got a generator from work. I lost almost all my fish also.

Should be a good time restocking at GA.

Brad

Folks,

We have gotten exactly two emails about this. We need more to make it happen!

We will dedicate a page for it on the website as soon as we get more people to respond.

We have exactly 5 people who have sent an email to volunteer. I KNOW that we have more members than that who don't mind helping others in need.

This will be appearing on the website as soon as MarkK96 can get it up there but we need to have more than the 5 members names and those of the board members.

Send that email!

Please include how you can help whether it be a helping hand, equipment to loan, temporary storage for livestock ..etc.

Let's try to fill a page with names!

Last call on this iteration of the list.

I have asked Mark to put it up on the website but will add any last minute volunteers!

Do you have to be a SLASH member to be on the list? I am more than happy to help someone out.
