treating a cut

i have a newly aquired midas blenny in my QT tank. he is gorgeous . Tonight was the first time he was out swimming and i noticed a small cut on the side of his body. not sure what he has done it on. i've added some stress coat to the tank which has alovera in it and is supposed to help heal the fish.Whilst the bottle tells me how much to add it doesn't say how often i need to add it. Does any one know? also, should i be adding anything else, like melafix or is the stress coat enough?

I'm not sure how much any of those medicines are going to help. I would get a hospital tank ready, and watch for any signs of infection. Treating an infection can't really be done in a display tank very well.

MelaFix will make your skimmer go crazy and IMHO it's useless anyway. I agree the way to go is watch for infection and treat him in a QT if needed, but chances are if he's healthy and conditions are good he'll heal up on his own -- fish are remarkable healers

Yep give it time. I have a goby that somehow lost most of its lower jaw. Been about a week now and most of it has already grown back. Odds are he will be fine.
