With all the talk (and the reality) of tank crashes from power outages, talk of having a generators, I wanted to share this with everyone who was interested in buying one.
I saw the Briggs and Stratton 5300W generator on sale at Home Depot, for $559.99. (normally 699.99) I also found out from a friend that Home Depot has a "customer appreciation coupon" good for 10% off any receipt up to $200. (meaning you coud spend 2k.) It's only good 7/27 through 7/30, so Thursday through Sunday. They aren't advertising it. I had to ask an employee, who didn't even know about it, who asked the customer service department, and they nodded and pulled the coupon from a drawer. There are restrictions on some items you can use if for, but I didn't see Briggs and Stratton on there, nor did I see it saying it doesn't apply to sale items. So, another $56 off. Every little bit helps. Don't hold me to it, I haven't used it yet, but I'm going to do it on Sunday. If you open a HD card, you can pay no interest for 12 months on anything $299 or more, so to me, this is THE time to buy insurance for your tank. (and, your food for that matter, you can power your fridge in the event of a power loss.) Just thought I'd give everyone the heads up. I'll post this in the lighting / equipment forum as well. |
