Sand Sifting Goby with Bottom Dwellers?

Well, we decided with rising electric prices and everything else, we are breaking down the 55 and placing all the fish in the 125.

I WANT to put our Sleeper Goby in the 125 but we have a few bottom corals like a brain and a plate. We also have a large Deresa Clam as well which sits on the sand. I really dont want to give him away, he is a great fish and it breaks my heart that I have to part with my Angels. I dont want to part with him too.

What would you do? Would you put him in? Will he be too much of a messy maker for the clam? I can manage with the two other corals but I know that the Deresa likes the sand bed and will not tolerate the rock work.

It will depend on how busy your gobie is. My Diamond only covers the rock work in front of his house. I have mushrooms on my sand bed and they have never been coverd. See were the sleeper sets up shop and move the clam away from this area. Good Luck

If you have enough flow you should be OK.

I have a Golden Head Sleeper Goby that sifts CONSTANLY. I too have clams and 'shrooms along with about 50X turnover, which keeps them clear. Sure sometimes the sand on them is noticable, but between the flow and the clam itself it clears off pretty quickly.

Alright, I'll see how he does in the 125. We'll make it work!
