ok from my understanding a CLS pulls water down to a pump and pumps it right back into the tank mainly for water movement ok my question is the whole max head, back pressure and things like that. the whole gph at 4' 5' or 6' head i mean what does all that mean any help would be the S@%T thanks dez |

max head is the amount of lift a pump can do before not pumping, most pumps have charts that specify 200gal at o feet 150 at 3 feet etc, the farther you lift the less ya get. back pressure??maybe gallons per hour loss from restrictions eg turns in pipe, actual friction inside the pipe, there are pipe loss calculators on line, all fittings are smaller id than the hose so if you start with pump outlet at 1'' and put a hose barb on you are reducing the id and the flow, good luck man and post again if your stuck
