frogspawn/clown fish

I understand that clown fish will sometimes use frogspawn as they would an anemone. Are they more likely to be attracted to the thick/short tentacle variety or the thin/long tentacle variety of frogspawn, or is there no difference? Thanks

It's all up to the clownfish. Each fish has it's own preference and attitude. Heck, I've seen clownfish host in Clam Mantles and even equipment such as powerheads, mag floats, and heaters.

I have had them host in frogspawn and it didn't seem to bother the coral in any way.

My 2 clownfish host in the frogspawn and I've never seen anything bad happen to the frogspawn like it shrivelling. Matter of fact the Frogspawn is the coral that does the best and grows the most in my tank.

depends how aggresively they host the FS. Mine generally stayed between the branches and below them. Not saying that its always bad for the coral, though i am saying that it isnt always good for it.

Mine really only goes inside when he is scared. The only other time he is actually in it is when he's feeding the FS...

My clarkii hosts in my anthellia coral. It doesn't bother that but when he tried to host in a gonipora it died. He never touches my frogspawn
