Do bowfront tanks distort your view of the contents?

Or should I ask, how much do they distort the view?
Considering buying one but not sure yet...

I don't think it's that bad, not so much as to be a nuisance. The half cylinder tanks on the other hand offer a distorted view of anything off center of where you are looking.

Yeah, I asked because all of the cylinders and half cylinders I have seen seem to give me a headache just to look at for a few seconds. I know there has to be some distortion, but have never seen for myself how much.

LIttle distortion, tough to take a picture through and hard to look at small stuff. A little difficult to clean, tough with a mag float. But I liked mine.

I don't notice so much distortion as I do just enlargement. I guess that's distortion, but it seems like everything is just bigger through the bow than a flat piece of glass.

Slightly magnifies things which is kindof cool if you ask me. As for being hard to take pics here are a few from my 54.

I would say there is a little distortion on the edge of the center of focus, but it's not terrible or anything.

I have a 46 bowfront, and it will be the last one I buy, it looks good but building a canopy and a stand and getting everything to fit was very tuff.

I'll bet. And they want a small fortune for the factory stand, which doesn't have much room in it anyway. Think I'll stick to the rectangular tank again.
