Long Tenacle Anemones vs Powerhead
MY LTA was cought in my Powerhead last night. He was happy my powerhead came unstuck from the glass and landed very close to him blowing all the crushed coral away that was around him. The LTA has been in the spot for two months. Now with all that half on tenatacls are now gone will this affect my water and can they live through something like this.

I'm far from an expert here - but I have read in the forums that they can take quite a beating and recover. So, yes it can make a come back.
I would recommend a quaratine tank just in case. That way if he does go south you will limit the damage the might occur in your tank. Once again, based soley on what I've read here, a dead Anemone in your tank can crash it rather quickly. |

It looks as its still inflating some of its tentacles. I'd not stress it further by removing it, just let it settle. The key thing to watch for is not extending any tentacles, bleaching, or no longer adhereing to the rock.

your anemone can survive. your gonna have to keep your water parameters to high standards. i wouldnt put in in QT, the move will further stress it. anemones crashing tanks isnt necessarily true. when they die, nothing will happen. however they do rot quickly (few days) which can cause ammonia etc spike. if it looks like its starting to melt and fall apart take it out and flush it. remember, a live anemone has no smell to it, a dead one however....whew. best of luck.

Thanks for all the help, I feel alot better than I did this morning. He has been established in the same spot all day and it appears that he has reset his foot. I will monitor daily, when do you think I should try and feed again, he nornally eats 3 shrimp per week?
