Can rearranging LR make you light headed/nausea?????

I just added some new LR today and ofcourse it didnt just exactly "fit" what I already had so I had to try different combonations to make the aquascape look good but most importantly...SECURE. Well, after about an hour of trying moving rocks around...I finally got it looking good and secure. Now that Im done, I feel a little lightheaded and a little bit of nausea. Could this be from the LR or maybe the fish was sending me a signal??? Is this possible??

PS: I also installed a 3/4 watt blue-moon-glow led light. Cant wait till tonight to spy on the little guys.

I have the same thing happen to me. Its not the fish but a high concentration level.

When you focous so hard and long while hunced next to a tank youre bound to feel some type of exhaustion

NO PAINS NO GAINS

Well, if you're worried about being poisoned, you could wear gloves. That's what I do. Otherwise, take it a bit easier!

Well, it is true...I still feel disoriented. This has happen before (everytime I add LR and have to reposition everything. I was just asking if this ever happened to anyone else. And also if they knew if it was the fish releasing a chemical, the bacteria on the LR, or a combonation of the 2. Anyway, its worth it.

Corals often release toxins, especially when touched. There might be other allergens, etc, in the tank that bother you as well. I'd try some gloves, but it might just be the exertion.

if you have zoanthids or the nudibranchs that eat zoathids I would say that this is definitely possible.

Also the exertion of being over the tank for extended periods could cause this as well. I get so agitated when trying to work in my small tank that I am gonna stroke out one of these days

I honestly think I had some type of reaction from whats in the tank but Im not going to argue with the experts. Beleive me, I know what exhaustion feels like....check my occupation. Infact, my fingertips where I was pushing on the LR (making them stable) have now turned slightly red and tender.

which job is tougher?? LOL!

Not sure how big your tank is, but I know that two of my base rocks in my 90G tank weigh a solid 40+ lbs. each, and combine that weight with the awkward lifting position that it takes to haul them up out of the water, I can definitely see potential for exhaustion. (am hunting mantis shrimp and gorilla crabs right now) take a break every couple minutes for a sip of a cold beverage while you're working.

Hydrogen sulfide can cause effects like that, too, but I'm sure you would have gagged from the stench long before you got dizzy!

I don't doubt that you could have had a reaction to something in the tank. That's why I wear gloves.

Also, when working with your body bent and arms extended at an unnatural angle, or over your head, which is a lot the same, your circulatory system has to work harder. If you are having dizziness/nausea, just mention this to your doctor the next time you have a checkup...I'm not saying 'heart attack', but rather you could have an intermittent rhythm problem or something of the like---I had to use a monitor to turn up mine: it only showed up at night or at odd moments, and you could have bowled me over with a feather when I found out I had the problem...and it can lead to more serious things if not dealt with. Medical treatment is a simple pill, no big deal if you get it early.

hmmmm

Do you guys ever notice that when you are working on the tank, rearranging the rocks and such, that you don't breath as often as you would if you were jogging? I was feeling the same way until my friend pointed it out to me. She had to remind me that I was not going for a swim, but it was my natural reaction to getting close to water to hold my breath. Maybe I'm just crazy..... ( did I mention I also clean my tank with my goggles and flippers on? jk)

I have 2 pairs of gloves and a pile of the disposables. The heavyweight ones are from LabSafety.com. The disposables I use mostly for feeding my anemone.

palytoxin can be absorbed through small cuts and such on your hands.

do you have any palythoa or zoanthid polyps?

Makes me sick when I take rocks out and I can't get them back the way they were. Very aggrivating
