Low Water Pressure, Low water Production

I am new to the whole RO/DI unit thing. I have a unit from purely H2O. I have very little pressure on my water line (about 20 PSI) I get very very little water production yet my drainage line puts out a ton of water that just goes down the drain. It's making me crazy, seeing all that water go to waste. Are all RO/DI units like that?

The TDS in NYC ranges between 35 and 55, so my water is pretty clean. I used to use an aquarium pharmeceuticals filter, which got it down to around 13 TDS. It worked well, but isn't ideal.

Is there anything out there that is better than the AP unit but not a huge production like an RO unit? The water waste seems counter productive.

20 PSI aint going to make much water. You can get a Booster pump for the input if you have too. Any chance you can turn up the pressure abit. I run my purelyh2o RO/DO around 45 to 65 PSI
It makes plenty of 0tds water for me. You can try calling Bryan @purelyh2o or posying in the Vendor forum.

I'm sure the filter is fine, it just isn't right for my situation. I'm going to resell it locally. I'm either going to stick with using the AP filter or if something else that is as easy but better pops up, I'll use that.

SPending another $100 on a booster pump and having to deal with the setup every week isn't right for my situation. WHen I have a bigger place with more room for fish stuff, then I'll move to an RO/DI unit. Otherwise in my small apt. it just doesn't make sense.

The AP tap water filter will only last you about 30 gallons max per cartridge at 35 to 55 tap water TDS so I woudn't go that route. An RO/DI with a booster is still your best bet. At 60 psi you will not waste near as much as you do at 20 psi.
