Best substrate for a refugium?
I am adding a 29g fuge to my 125g reef (for nutrient export / nitrate reduction mostly, but also for fauna). What would you reccomend (if anything) as a substrate. I have considered using a mixture of caribsea's "Mineral Mud", and a Argamax's "Sugar Sized Sand", since they claim that this sand can acheive nitrate reduction in shallow depths of 1 or 2 inches. I will also have several inches of rubble rock (20-30 lbs or so)
Thoughts? -TJ |
