Coralline algae grows slow. It's the hair algae that grows fast . Your lights seem fine. Keep phosphates low and just give it time.

Yep, you'll be sick of it in time.
Keep alk & calc up as well.

If you've got MH, then you're definatly set. I hear that MH really makes it grow like crazy over time, but then again, so does most lighting, since coraline can adjust to grow under almost any lighting condition. I'm just waiting for mine to grow in my tank under my 4x54w T5s.

I thought I read that it grows slower under MH, that it prefers somewhat dimmer lights. I know in my tank (with T5) it mostly grows in the shadier spots.

We had a low light reef that had been up and running for 5 years. The back was covered completely with coraline algae. Then, we added 2x400w metal halides (to a 125g tank that was used to about 300 watts of light) and almost all the coraline died off the back of the tank. It took it a few months, but it grew back again. The stuff is reacts to light changes, but doesnt seem to be bothered by high or low light.

I cannot grow corraline in my tank. Every time I introduce anything that has it on it, after about 2-3 months, it's all gone. I was running 520watts of pc, and recently switched to 260watts pc and 300 watts mh. And am hoping to see some growth. I used Purple Up for about 3 weeks but only managed to create problems with nuisance algae and now I have a problem with cyanobacteria that I didn't have before...
