Think i killed my shrimp!!

i was zapping some apista with some joe's juice the day before i bought my peppermint shrimp... lets say there was some juice left on some rock or half dead apista and the shrimp was eating it.. did this cause him to die?! i only had him for a day!! he was fine went i left for work came back and he was gone .. any thoughts on this would be great.. thanks!

When you say he was gone, like gone as in dead or gone as in could not find him. Peppermints hide very well.

May have been, did you climatise him correctly, shrimps are extremely fragile and may have simply ruptured one of its veins in the legs through improper introduction to your tank.

Do you have anything else in your tank?
I take it you params are good..?

Sean, I love that "Climatise"!! You Liverpoolians sound so much more refined that we Americaners...

gone as in dead.. how do u climatise him? i did the same thing with him as i did with my coral beauty and shes doin fine.. i did see my shrimp stuck to the bottom of my penguine powerhead but i thought maybe he was just eatin some of the alge that was on it.. didn't think about any veins or anything. yea my water is fine btw

Very slowly is the way to "Acclimatise" an invert like a shrimp using a drip method has worked best for me

From what you are saying you have answered your question it is the Power Head Killer Syndrome if you ask me

he was fine after i took him off the PH though.. he was walking around picking at rocks and stuff.. and then like 5 or 6 hrs later dead....

he may have looked ok but the reality of it is he more than likely wasn't I know I would be far from happy if I was stuck to a PH for however long it was.

Taking everything into consideration....

You tank params are good
Your other shrimp is good
No drastic changes have been done to the tank

The only thing is the PH incedent, not forgetting you did not even have him for a day before this happened so he was already hyper stressed from the move.
