I've just read most of the thread that A. Calfo had on DSBB (deep sand bed bucket), great read by the way, and although he says you can use silica sand he suggests to use aragonite oolitic sand to keep it from binding together and for alk. reasons. Great idea this DSBB. But argonite sand can be quite expensive. I support my lfs as much as possible. The problem with this particular project is the expence of the oolitic sand, my lsf wants $22.00 for 22# of dry bags. It would take about 3-4 bags to fill a 5 gal bucket. My question is does anyone know where to get it for cheaper?
Thanks for any info. Robert ![]() |
