What type of live rock produces best results

I have seen Fiji and Marshall Islands etc. What type gives the best assortment of hitchhikers?

The initial quality and treatment of the rock are more important than the location, in my opinion. The Florida aquacultured live rock can have a wide assortment of animals in it, since it's treated carefully. Sometimes, it comes down to luck of the draw, too.

ya where it comes from doesnt really have any affect on how good it is compaired to others. There are some tho that are more dense, and some that are more porous...I cant remember, but i think i've heard where you can use those qualities to a certain benefit, but maybe not...for example i've heard that for one thing you would use dense rock, (because of space issues probably) over lighter rock...i think

I think (not entirelly sure about this) marshal island lr is more dense and less porous in general than fiji lr

I think you would be Wrong there...It is light weight and very porous!

mmm...i think that laakmann is right...i've got some tonga thats pretty heavy and its just a small piece, and then i just got a thing of fiji thats about the same size but a lot lighter...could be dif. w/each rock tho i guess.

Marshall Island is some of the lightest and less dense rock around. Just check the description (and the price per pound) of the rock at some of the sponsors' sites.
