Battery Air Pump Questions
I tried this in the General Forum, but nobody responded, so I'm trying it here. I just hooked up two of these on my 90 gal. tank in case the power goes out:
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...&N=2004+113402 First, are two of these sufficient to oxygenate a 90 gal. during a longer power failure. Second, does anybody know how long these types of pumps will run on the two 'D' batteries? |

they would be ok for a short period. it depends on the amount of oxygen in your home. if you set the pump outside it would draw more oxygen. Wal-Mart has b/o pumps for about the same price. theyre in the "fishing" supply area, not the fish. save you shipping cost. REEF-ON!

reefnetworth - I already have 2 wired up to come on if the power goes out. And then go off if the power comes back on. I had a 12+ hour power failure kill 5 of my fish about 4 months ago, so I'd like to avoid that again. I'm mainly trying to figure out if the 2 is good or do I need to add another.
I didn't know that Walmart sold something similar. If I need another, I may go there.
