54 Watt T5 Bulb PAR measurements

Do anyone have a link or know some PAR measurements for different 54 watt T5 bulbs? I'm looking for a list of compiled data. Hopefully all measurements from a certain control distance (6 inches?)

ATI 6500K Sun Pro - ?
ATI 12000K Aquablue Special - ?
ATI Blue Plus - ?
ATI Actinic Blue 03 - ?
General Electric 6500K Daylight - ?
Giesemann 6000K Midday Sun - ?
Giesemann 11000K Aquablue Plus - ?
Giesemann Actinic Plus - ?
Giesemann Pure Actinic 03 - ?
UV Lighting 10000K AquaSun - ?
UV Lighting 12000K Actinic White (50/50) - ?
UV Lighting Super Actinic - ?

Any help would be great. Thanks!

Check the recent thread that says something like "lets end the debate T5 vs MH" or something like that. I believe on page 2 or 3 someone listed all the PAR ratings.

Please link me to that thread, it would be like finding the Holy Grail.
BTW I looked and don't see it.

Here is a start. Too bad they are 39w bulbs. Anyone else know of other measurements to be found?

Thanks for pointing that out iamquockie. Completely overlooked it. Guess I was too busy looking at the first post of the thread.

I would feel a little more comfortable if those figures did not come from a store, especially one that is selling the product. Also we need MH numbers to compare it to, preferably all these tests should be done by one person using the same meter.

Not to be ungrateful but it would be a little more comforting with tests from an independent source

Hey Grim, Did you ever get around to testing the UVL 54W Aquasun bulb? My guess would be it's a tad stronger then the Actinic White

Huh ok maybe I am not using the link properly. What I saw was a link to a store selling fixtures and bulbs.
Reading the thread again, one of the guys was asking where did the numbers come from and the other guy supplied a link for the Fixture store. Hence my confusion.

Grim can you supply the link for the thread were you posted those numbers. I would love to read the whole thing.

Thanks

I don't have a link but I have a few more lamps here I gotta do so I will start a new thread with all the lamps and numbers. I pretty much just used a PVC collar to space the sensor an inch away from the lamps and let them rip. I have some ballasts to do too.

We did a par comparison and the difference between the Actinic/white and the Aquasun on the Triad ballast was only a few points ( measure 5" away on icecap reflectors 214 vs. 205 reading ). IMO: not significant enough to say the Aquasun was any better ( about 5% ).

To me visually to the eye, the Actinic/White looks better. Aquasun much like the VHO counterpart looks too pink to me. Not for sure if running on an Icecap ballast would have a greater impact on Par comparisons between the two but I doubt it.

What about Arcadia t5 bulbs? How do they compare?

I only seem to be able to get hold of D&D bulbs or Arcadia ones. Which should I get?

The actinic white looks a little pink to me. Of course Ive been running a 3000K GE too and they look orange so what do I know I think when mixed with the blues the red spectrum helps bring out more colors.

I would go D&D just because they are a known quality. Never used Arcadia lamps.

Thanks. I'll do that unless I come across the par ratings for arcadia bulbs (the arcadia bulbs are easy to get hold of over here, but D&D bulbs are not so easy to find).

I noticed PCI Pacific coast imports had a 10K and atinic t-5 lamps have you ever tested them? They are so much less expensive then the other brands i figure there not very good. But you never know until you test them

Never came across those either. If I was a PHD'ed God of all things lighting like Sanjay maybe all those people would send me stuff to test.

If you can get them I will do the PAR measurment and compare the look to the "good" lamps.
